ഇന്ന് ശ്രാവണ പൌര്‍ണമി … പ്രാചീനകാലത്ത് ഗുരുകുല സമ്പ്രദായത്തിലുള്ള അദ്ധ്യയനം ആരംഭിച്ചിരുന്ന ശുഭദിനം .. ഈ ദിനമാണ് ആയിരത്തി തൊള്ളായിരത്തി അറുപത്തി ഒമ്പത് മുതല്‍ സംസ്കൃത ദിനമായി ആചരിച്ചുവരുന്നത്.

ഇച്ഛാശക്തിയുണ്ടായിരുന്നെങ്കില്‍ ഭരണഘടനയനുസരിച്ച് രാഷ്ട്രഭാഷയാകുമായിരുന്നു സംസ്കൃതം. അംബേദ്‌കര്‍ നിര്‍ദ്ദേശിച്ചിട്ടും രണ്ടു മന്ത്രിമാര്‍ പിന്തുണച്ചിട്ടും അംഗീകാരം ലഭിയ്ക്കാതെ പോയി.. എന്നാല്‍ ഭാരതത്തിലെ ഒരു സംസ്ഥാനത്തില്‍ – ഉത്തരാഖണ്ഡ്- രണ്ടാം ഔദ്യോഗികഭാഷയാണിന്ന് സംസ്കൃതം..

മൃത ഭാഷ എന്ന് ഒരു വിഭാഗം പ്രചരിപ്പിച്ചുവരുന്നുണ്ടെങ്കിലും ഭാരതത്തിലെ 5 ഗ്രാമങ്ങളില്‍ സംസാര ഭാഷയാണിന്ന് സംസ്കൃതം. എട്ടോളം മാസികകള്‍ ഈ ഭാഷയില്‍ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. മലയാളത്തില്‍ നാം നിത്യവും ഉപയോഗിയ്ക്കുന്ന നിരവധി പദങ്ങള്‍ സംസ്കൃതത്തില്‍ നിന്നും വന്നവയാണ്. ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് ഭാഷയിലും മറ്റുമുള്ള പല പദങ്ങള്‍ക്കും സംസ്കൃതത്തിലെ സമാന അര്‍ത്ഥം വരുന്ന വാക്കുകളുമായി സാമ്യമുണ്ട്‌.

മാര്‍ക്കണ്‍ഡയ മഹര്‍ഷി വിവരിയ്ക്കുന്ന 17 ഭാഷാ ഭേദങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്നും സംസ്കരിച്ചു ക്രോഡീകരിച്ച പൊതുവായ രൂപമാണ് സംസ്കൃതം എന്ന് ചരിത്രം പറയുന്നു. ഭാരതത്തിന്‍റെ വിവിധ ദേശങ്ങളില്‍ സംസാരിച്ചിരുന്ന ഇവയൊക്കെ തന്നെ അര്‍ത്ഥ വ്യത്യാസമില്ലാതെ വേദങ്ങളില്‍ പലേടത്തും പ്രയോഗിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്… നമ്മുടെ മലയാളതിലെതുള്‍പ്പെടെ.
