Rain outside-Showers in my mind

Rain outside-Showers in my mind

O child, do not go out!

The Rainy Day

by Rabindranath Tagore

Sullen clouds are gathering fast over the black fringe of the
forest.
O child, do not go out!
The palm trees in a row by the lake are smiting their heads
against the dismal sky; the crows with their dragged wings are
silent on the tamarind branches, and the eastern bank of the river
is haunted by a deepening gloom.
Our cow is lowing loud, ties at the fence.
O child, wait here till I bring her into the stall.

tip....tip......blip....
Men have crowded into the flooded field to catch the fishes
as they escape from the overflowing ponds; the rain-water is
running in rills through the narrow lanes like a laughing boy who
has run away from his mother to tease her.
Listen, someone is shouting for the boatman at the ford.
O child, the daylight is dim, and the crossing at the ferry
is closed.
The sky seems to ride fast upon the madly rushing rain; the
water in the river is loud and impatient; women have hastened home
early from the Ganges with their filled pitchers.
The evening lamps must be made ready.
O child, do not go out!
The road to the market is desolate, the lane to the river is
slippery. The wind is roaring and struggling among the bamboo
branches like a wild beast tangled in a net.

Rain outside-Showers inside my mind

music of rain on leaves & flowers !

Rain outside-Showers inside my mind

A slight rain comes, bathed in dawn light.
I hear it among treetop leaves before mist
Arrives. Soon it sprinkles the soil and,
Windblown, follows clouds away. Deepened

Colors grace thatch homes for a moment.
Flocks and herds of things wild glisten
Faintly. Then the scent of musk opens across
Half a mountain — and lingers on past noon.

Rainy Start – July 12, 2011

Tit…tit…clix….ktim…..
Sound of the falling drops of rains.
Things that can never be explained, only experienced. Rain is the best example.
The dim day light, whole atmosphere with particles of rain drops…. The greenary washed and looking afresh…
sound of the rain
Melody of rainining..
Symphony happening while it’s raining..

For a while we think rain has went away, and before the thought fades out, agin it showers….
Unpredictable…

Monsoon

Earth feeds us all in plenty..what we repay...?
Monsoon

It’s rainining. And Raining. And Raining. !
The bounty of Mother Universe.

”Rain Rain Go Away
Come Again another day”

Is only a nursery rhyme.

We pray
”Rain Rain come today
Go Away another day”

Or rather never go away…!

Whole of the atmosphere around is ladden with the sweet fragrance of fresh, happy soil. The cool environment, with the sprroughting seedlings is such enchanting that mind jumps to an elevated mood.

In malayalam calendar,’ mithunam’ is running.
