Restore your Galaxy S II to its factory settings
You can restore your Samsung Galaxy S II to its factory settings by following the instructions below. This can be useful if your phone continually freezes, fails to respond or you’ve forgotten the security locks you’ve set up to access the phone.Galaxy
Important: Restoring your Galaxy S II to factory settings will wipe all phone data so if you’re not locked out of the phone you should first back up your data. The reset won’t delete data saved to your SIM
Step-by-step guide
Step 1
Turn the phone off. If you’re unable to turn the phone off with the power button, remove and reinstall the battery.
Step 2
With the phone off, hold down the Power, Volume Up and Menu buttons simultaneously for approximately 10 seconds. Release the buttons when you see the android logo. This will access the unlock/reset menu.
Step 3
In this unlock/reset menu, you can navigate through using the volume buttons to scroll up/down and the power button to confirm selections.
Scroll down and select ‘Wipe Data/Factory Reset’.

Step 4
When prompted scroll down and select ‘Yes – Delete All User Data’.
Step 5
When prompted scroll to and select ‘Reboot System Now’. The phone will then reboot to its factory settings with the security lock removed.
